Meet the Photographer

My name is Shelby Ratliff, and I’m a photographer based in Central Florida specializing in equine photography. Horses have been a lifelong passion of mine. Like many devoted equestrians, I grew up riding whenever I could, but my true journey began at fourteen when my family bought my first horse, Mona. She taught me lessons that extend far beyond the barn—patience, persistence, hard work, and passion.

Art has also always been a driving force in my life. Throughout school, I immersed myself in every art class I could take, from Film Photography, Studio Art, and Ceramics to Photoshop, 3D Modeling, and Art History. Even while pursuing a degree in Business Administration, I made sure to keep art at the center of my world. During that time, my mom gifted me my first DSLR camera, and I quickly fell in love with photography.

What began as bringing my camera to the barn and horse shows soon grew into bigger. I started documenting my horses, friends, and fellow competitors as we traveled across the country. Blending my artistic background in composition and color with my firsthand understanding of horses, I discovered my passion for creating meaningful, lasting images for riders and owners alike.

Horses and photography have both shaped who I am, and I feel incredibly grateful to be able to merge these two passions into my work.

Finding Your Images

If you booked a private session with me, you can find your images under the “Clients” section of my website.

If you’re looking for photos from an event, visit “Recent Events” and select the album with the correct date. Event photos are always available for download after purchase. If you ever lose your images or need another copy, you can revisit your previously unlocked albums to redownload them at any time.

You can also search your name in the website’s search bar to quickly pull up your past albums.
